You can travel to Drøbak by boat, bus, bicycle and car. The Ruter boats B21 and B22 go to and from Drøbak during the summer season, and on weekends in spring and autumn. The Oscarsborg ferry from Drøbak to Oscarsborg runs all year round from Sundbrygga north of the city centre and during the summer season from both Sundbrygga and Sjøtorget in the city centre. Ruter also has buses to and from Drøbak, both from Oslo (500 and 505), Ski (510) and Ås (510), in addition to the local route 506. By car, it takes about 40 minutes from Oslo city centre to Drøbak. The nearest train station is in Ås.

Boat from Drøbak to Oscarsborg

The Oscarsborg ferry runs from Drøbak to Oscarsborg all year round from Sundbrygga north of Drøbak. On weekends in spring and autumn and every weekday during the summer season, the Oscarsborg ferry also departs from Sjøtorget in the city centre.

Bus

There is a bus between Drøbak and Oslo (500) every half hour. See the bus times here.

Parking in Drøbak city centre

There is a requirement to register your vehicle and pay a parking fee from 07:00 to 22:00 in Drøbak every day.

Drøbak town center: 1 hour of free parking, 4 hours paid – maximum 5 hours total.

Drøbak town center: introduction of winter and summer pricing. The hourly rate from September to April is lower compared to the summer rate, which runs from May through August.

There are several municipal parking areas in Drøbak town center. The two largest and most popular are Bankløkka (maximum 5 hours, 1 hour free) and Sjøtorget (maximum 24 hours, 1 hour free). There is also a maximum of 24 hours with 1 hour free at Hamborgstranda and Lehmannsbrygga.

Other parking areas in the town center include: Lindtruppbakken, Drøbak Cinema, Molo B, Niels Carlsensgate, and Osloveien (all maximum 5 hours, 1 hour free).

At Seiersten and Smia, there is still 2 hours of free parking and 3 hours paid – maximum 5 hours total. The same price applies year-round.

Motorhomes

Motorhomes can park in municipal parking areas outside the city centre, such as Seiersten and Skiphelle. Motorhome parking is not permitted at Sjøtorget. There are 4 spaces at Molo B, Havnegata 15. These parking spaces are larger than a normal parking space.

Overnight stays are not allowed in Gamle Drøbak, as the law states that there must be at least 4 metres between each parking space before accommodation can be allowed.

Motorhomes can empty septic tanks in Husvikveien 58, by the pumping station (small red building).

The nearest campsite is Vestby Hyttepark .

Bicycle in Drøbak

Cycling in Drøbak is becoming more and more popular. At BUA Drøbak you can even borrow one for free. There are many routes to choose from, including cycling northwards past Nesodden and up towards Aker Brygge in Oslo. There are also nice cycle paths to Ås.
