Galleries in Drøbak
Over the past 200 years, many renowned artists have moved in and called Drøbak their home. And it's perhaps not surprising given our location, views, climate, and proximity to Oslo.
Idyllic Drøbak is also one of the few cities in Norway where there is actually plenty to do on Sundays, so much so that Drøbak has earned the nickname "The Sunday City". The galleries, cafés, and shops remain open on Sundays throughout the year.
«There were only two places worth living; Paris in the winter and Drøbak in the summer.»
- Artist Edvard Diriks
Throughout history, Drøbak has charmed artists, bohemians, and writers, including Hans Gude, Oda and Christian Krogh, and Knut Hamsun. As an artist town, Drøbak has several galleries.
