Innovation Norway: Sustainable Destination

Visit Greater Oslo, in collaboration with Asker Municipality, has started the process of achieving Innovation Norway’s “Sustainable Destination” label over a two-year period. The work is being carried out in cooperation with the tourism industry within the municipality.

The national labeling scheme means that the destination works systematically for more sustainable tourism development, identifying challenges and opportunities to develop the area with a focus on environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The label is a useful tool for managing the destination and can contribute to increased value creation, more jobs, lower emissions, and more satisfied residents and guests.

The project is being led by representatives from the tourism industry and the municipality. We look forward to working with skilled colleagues from Asker Municipality, Museums in Akershus, Thon Hotel Vettre, Håøya Nature Workshop, Asker Business Association, Akershus County Municipality, Mimir, and Innovation Norway.
