ISO 14001

The ISO 14001 standard sets the requirements for an environmental management system that will enable an organization to develop and implement policies and goals that consider statutory requirements and information on significant environmental aspects. The company itself chooses the areas to concentrate on where the environmental impact is the greatest, and where there is most to be gained from making an improvement.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel

The Swan is the official ecolabel of the Nordic countries. It sets environmental requirements for products in a life cycle perspective, from extraction of raw materials, during production and use and to the product as waste.

Companies must satisfy strict criteria related to energy and water consumption, waste management and the use of chemicals. They must also set strict environmental requirements for their suppliers of goods and services. You meet the Nordic Ecolabel at restaurants and hotels and accommodation companies.

Green Key

Green Key International is an international eco-label awarded to accommodations and other hospitality facilities that are committed to sustainable business practices. Awarded companies meet strict criteria, independently verified through regular on-site audits. The standard is maintained through annual recertification, thorough application process, documentation requirements and regular inspections.

Eco-Lighthouse

Eco-Lighthouse is an environmental management system for public and private companies that want to document their environmental efforts.

An Eco-Lighthouse-certified company is committed to working purposefully to improve its environmental performance in the areas of work environment, waste management, use of energy, purchasing and transport. Eco-lighthouse has adapted sets of criteria for different industries and the certificate is awarded after an independent assessment.

Blue Flag

Blue Flag is an environmental certificate for beaches, marinas and sustainable boating tourism operators. The award is given annually to over 4,000 beaches, marinas and boats in 46 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, South and North America.

The purpose of the Blue Flag is to help promote sustainable development at beaches, marinas and among providers of sustainable boat trips. This is done through strict requirements for, among other things, environmental management, water quality, safety and service, environmental training, and information.
