Boat
Romerike features several beautiful lakes. It is therefore inevitable that travel by boat is often the best, and sometimes the only, method of transport if you want to experience the region’s gems.
In Romerike in the summer season, it is possible to take beautiful round trips with either the MS Øyeren at Nordre Øyeren and Glomma, or the Skibladner at Mjøsa. It is also possible to hop off at stops along the way if you have plans to visit other locations.
Skibladner
Mjøsa’s white swan still ploughs majestically on Norway’s largest lake. The beautiful paddle steamer from 1856 is the oldest in the world that is still in operation. You can choose which quay you would like to start your journey from. In Romerike, Eidsvoll is the departure location. In addition to the regular timetabled service, it is also possible to hire the ship for charter trips and companies. For more information, see Skibladner.
MS Øyeren
The MS Øyeren departs from Fetsund Lensemuseum and sails to Glomma and into Nordre Øyeren Nature Reserve, which also constitutes the Nordic region’s largest inland delta. The catamaran departs from both Fetsund Lensemuseum and Lillestrøm. MS Øyeren is a restaurant boat, with both indoor and outdoor seating. For timetables and more information, see MS Øyeren.
